Vacancy of the European Data Protection Supervisor and of the Assistant Supervisor

The positions of the European Data Protection Supervisor and Assistant Supervisor are provided for by Regulation (EC) No 45/2001 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 18 December 2000 on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data by the Community institutions and bodies and on the free movement of such data. This Regulation establishes the principles under which European Union institutions, bodies, agencies and offices process personal data to ensure that they comply with the fundamental rights and freedoms of individuals, and in particular their right to privacy.

The Office of the Body of European Regulators for Electronic Communications (BEREC) is set up to provide administrative and professional support to the BEREC, the new Body of European Regulators for Electronic Communications.

RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP

The OSCE Parliamentary Assembly International Secretariat regularly engages eight or nine graduate students of political science, law and international relations from universities in OSCE countries as Research Fellows. Fellowship positions are granted for six month periods. Housing is provided free of charge and all Research Fellows receive a small stipend of 564 euros per month, which covers minimum living expenses in Copenhagen or Vienna. Students join the International Secretariat in order to gain practical experience in the field of international affairs, and the Assembly, in turn, benefits from increased language capacity as well as a strong research capacity.

The Parliamentary Assembly of the OSCE is the parliamentary dimension of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe, whose 57 participating States span the geographical area from Vancouver to Vladivostok.
