European Commission_MEMO/13/764 04/09/2013
On 4 September 2013, the European Commission proposed a European framework designed for Money Market Funds (MMFs). Those funds are an important source of short-term financing for financial institutions, corporates and governments. In order to preserve the integrity and stability of the internal market, the proposed regulation introduces new rules that will make the MMFs more resilient to future financial crisis and at the same time secure their financing role for the economy.
